I was thinking back to the day when I decided to start my own home based business,

I remember how excited I was, I really wanted to achieve my goal of financial freedom, I was passionate about attaining my goals, I could almost feel, see and touch the dollars. As I mentioned in the previous post – I am almost, if not totally Psychologically unemployable and was intent on making a success of working from home.

There are various stages one goes through when you decide to jump into an online business, First you are excited, You dream of all the money you are going to make , the life you are going to have, the beautiful car, the travel , sacking your boss, for those of you in the online marketing industry, I am sure you can relate to this..

You jump in with both feet wading through pages on the Internet, learning as much as you can , you might even sign up for a membership site or two, purchase a product or two, and then suddenly the realisation sets in that it might not be as easy as you initially thought and making money online isn’t quick and it isn’t easy, You come to the realisation that your technical expertise might be a little lacking.

This is where many “newbies” in the Internet marketing tend to give up

Their dream dies and they find themselves pushing aside thoughts of making money online. They may dismiss their goals by saying that they are simply unattainable. They might rationalize abandoning their dreams by telling themselves that it was all a lie anyhow. After all, it seems that the only people that make any real money online are people who sell the dream of making money online to others. The gurus are the only ones who seem to be making money online

However, this is not the case for those select few “newbies” who are slightly more thick skinned, have a “hard headedness” about them and have an inbuilt determination system that allow them to continue, it might not be with the initial business they started but they can and eventually will succeed.

They spend time slowly learning, implementing and watching others, when they feel over whelmed, they go back to the basics, they research some more and they tweak their system to obtain the desired outcome, they grow their business and their skills, they share their new found knowledge with others, they add to their collection of online tools and tricks all the while growing personally, daily along side their growing business , stronger and stronger , eventually achieving small measures of success, enough to sustain them and provide a realisation that no business is a quick fix and if it is then it is not worth having.

A business worth having is sustainable and the results measurable.

Why am I telling you this? Well, it is to give you hope. I was in the same position. To let you know that the process you undergo, the highs and the lows are normal and most people in the online marketing industry go through this – The trick is never to give up. To presevere when times seem tough. When all looks bleak and you have run out of resources and your confidence is low is when you need to push just that little harder.

Your determination to succeed will pull you or push you through. Part of the process of starting your business is going through phases of doubt of struggle.To leave you on a positive note, when you feel as if you want to give up.

Persevere!

I’ll say it again. Persevere. Dig in to that untapped determination and enjoy your success.
