Achieving goals in your Network Marketing business can be easier than you think, if you follow some strict rules and guideline and apply a few pinciples listed below.
Change is hard. Understandably, folks like to stay in their comfort zone. For some, setting and achieving goals is difficult. It means changing the way your life “fits”.
Well, sticking to your goals will be difficult…while you alter your agenda and tailor a few expectations. But after a few weeks or so you’ll likely have a whole new bolt of cloth to work with.
Once you get used to the new fit, you won’t have to put aside the parts of your life that refresh and rebalance you. (The ideal life is one replete with achievements, family, friends, spirituality, meditation and pastimes.)
Stay Flexible
You will have to remind yourself to stay flexible while you identify and achieve goals. If you’ve decided to go after your Master’s Degree, for example, you are going to have to give up going to bed at two in the morning in order to attend early morning classes and lectures.
But the benefits far outweigh the inconveniences. You’ll be proud of having stuck with it and, little by little, your self-image will change for the better.
You Might Not Wish to Change
There are those who don’t wish to change. They may say they would like to, but, in reality, they are not ready. Thus, they never take the steps needed to achieve their goals. In a sense, these folks have already (at least subconsciously) decided what their goals are going to be: to more or less keep their life as is, for the time being.
Beware of stagnation, however. A fulfilling, rewarding life entails doing what you love to do. Helping others by doing what makes our soul sing is the essence of why we’re here!
Reach Out
Once you focus on your goals, you will need some type of help, so don’t be afraid to reach out. “I like working on my own,” you might say. Well, OK, but we all need support. (Think of it as undergirding.)
Isolation won’t get you to your ideal—even if your ideal is eventually working on your own.
Let’s say, for example, that you want to set up your own network marketing business. You’ll want to ask around and see who’s in business doing something similar. When you’re successful, you might eventually need an accountant and perhaps an administrative assistant or more.
Even if you’ll be wearing all the hats, you’ll need good suppliers, a reputable computer tech, an accessible banker and trustworthy clients.
And it’s helpful to have an accountability partner. That’s someone with whom you’ll share your goals…someone you trust enough to “report to”. (A personal strategy coach would be able to take you by the hand and guide you through many of the rough spots.) It may even be a group of people who collaborate for your success like those I am connected with through Better Networker
Become Determined
Once you’ve identified your goals, get downright stubborn about achieving those goals. Tell yourself that, if what you are doing is not outside of the Universal will, nothing is going to stop you. Whether you are determined to make your life better by switching careers, going to school or starting a business, you will accomplish these goals.
Note: if you are not determined, everything will seem a hassle and you are liable to give up.
Here are a few other steps to help you achieve your goals:
1. Tell yourself NOW that it’s not going to be a bed of roses. It will take discipline. This will help you get all the excuses out of the way at the outset.
2. Even if you are a loner, you will need to meet with and connect with people. Seek out people of integrity.
3. Feel your power. Whenever you hear yourself saying “Can’t someone do this for me? Or: “Can’t I skip over this part?” give yourself a little kick in the pants. You’re not helpless!
4. Set your goals in stone (as it were). Write them down and paste them where they are visible. Do not let yourself forget. Visualize your goal. Tell yourself: “I see myself achieving my goal in XXX months (or years)!”
5. If you’re prone to disappointment when you identify goals and then don’t achieve them, set small goals…but set a few at a time. Don’t baby yourself; get used to becoming an achiever.
6. Give yourself lots of “atta boys” or atta girls”. You WILL falter, but just pick yourself up and keep going. Never give up.
7. Practice the Be-Do-Have way of thinking. You will “be” the person who will achieve your goal. You will “do” what that takes. You will “get” what you need to achieve your goals. This will increase your self-confidence, boost your skill set (with practice) and—whether or not change is difficult for you—alter your self-image for the better.
Putting some of these simple steps into practise will ensure that you move forward in your online business, making success inevitable.
