What do you say when you’re out of things to say.
This doesn’t happen often to me and known as one to speak a lot [and fast] a real chatterbox, my teachers used to have this written on my report card every year
“Brenda could do better if she wasn’t such a chatterbox, and yet this week I opened up Facebook and was “ speechless”
I had nothing to say.
I did not feel like adding the “ if all else fails inspirational quote” I couldn’t gripe about something cause I had nothing to gripe about, and even if I did I am not sure I would add it to Facebook.
There are limits to what I let Facebook see.
Have you noticed how many people visiting Facebook every day, bare there soul, add images of their lunches, asking what’s for dinner, new born bay pics, inspirational quotes, pets hates, marketing tips and how to make a money on Facebook, so with all the million of other status updates that get posted each how do you get your message noticed amongst all the noise and hub bub of social media world.
Last I heard Facebook algorithms have been set so that only a few of your friends/subscribers actually get to see your awesome status update on the latest fashion, haircut or what’s for supper pic.
Sad but true..
In a busy world where we get busier every day, how do we ensure our message is;
Seen
Heard and
Adds value to a platform that shifts what you added a few minutes ago to the bottom of the pile?
Google being my best friend (forget the diamonds) has some phenomenal answers; here are a few points to consider increasing the exposure of your status updates.
1.) Variety is the spice of life, be varied with your content, a little this a little that raises your affinity score, more people with a broad spectrum of interest will now start seeing you posts.
2.) Add sexy stuff, fun and positive content.
3.) Mention Facebook a few times (can you guess, of course Facebook will share your content, Facebook as a topic is the most shared content on Facebook – Go figure.)
4.) Respond a.s.a.p. when someone comments on a topic / post or status update – this increases the number of interactions per post, this includes responding to comments directly made on you wall (Hello affinity score! )
5.) Post regularly (but not every minutes) spread out your updates – allow them to gain traction.
6.) Post content after work hours – more people visit Facebook after hours.
7.) Add images – that are eye catching, this captures attention quicker. We live in a visual world so why not add something to attract attention.
8.) Video, video, video, post the video directly into Facebook so people can watch from you’re their Facebook page.
9.) Meta descriptions – ad those to any links you post – Facebook grabs hold of that Meta description and you get some added juice.
10.) Use easy to understand and simple language – dump the jargon.
11.) Ask questions and more specifically get feedback from your fans.
12.) Test and Measure – Facebook Insight is great for measuring how well content performs.
So what has me being speechless have to do with being seen , heard and gaining more exposure on Facebook. Absolutely nothing, but it was a great introduction to get my creative thoughts flowing
